Raspberry Glow brings a warmer color than most Japanese irises manage — raspberry pink, shot through with blue that keeps it from reading flat or sweet. At 46 inches it's among the taller varieties we grow, holding its flowers well above surrounding planting.

Registered by Terry Aitken in 1992. Aitken runs Aitken's Salmon Creek Garden in Vancouver, Washington, and has been one of the most consistent names in American Japanese iris breeding for decades — we also grow his 'Rivulets of Wine' and 'Blue Blue Heaven'.

Blooming midseason to late, it carries color into the back half of the season.

Japanese irises want moisture, especially through spring bloom season, and slightly acidic soil — they won't tolerate lime. Full sun gives the best performance. Hardy in zones 4–8.
